    Dumb question maybe

I am running linux mint 21.2 and added gnome to it. I noticed the version of gnome is 42.9. I was wondering is there a safe way to upgrade gnome to version 44 or even 45 or can it not be done? If upgrading means breaking my system then I surely dont want to do that but if I can and everything still work fine then I would like to know how to upgrade my version of gnome please.

I think i saw a thread about adding gnome to Mint on the Mint https://forums.linuxmint.com fairly recently but did not read it in any detail as personally I find gnome unusable, sticking with Xfce and Xubuntu.
Have a search on that linked forum and you may find a lot more information.

    Here it is.
